Feels good to be back

As I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, my husband and I were moving.  Well, it's official, we have moved into a lovely new home on Vancouver Island, BC.  We only arrive last week and thanks to my sister, I'm all moved in AND my craft room is organized!  I actually got back to making some long overdue thank you cards for customer orders. It sure didn't take long to get back to a crafting mess :)

Can you spot one of my favourite new bundles from the Annual Catalogue?  Yep, it's Daisy Delight.  I know that the punch is back order - it has been a favourite of everyone! but it is expected back in stock as of June 26th.

Check out this amazing card made by my friend Liane Binder using the same stamp set and punch and showing off some of the new In Colours - Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist.  Aren't they yummy!

When you're ready to order, you can go to my Online Store or email me your order.  Remember if you are shopping through the Online Store and your order is less than $200, use my Host Code DDJMHCE9 and I'll send you a set of 4 cards as a Thank You gift including the instructions so you can make at home.
Stampin’ Up! is offering a great host reward to kick off the new catalog ordering!  You get an extra $40 in Stampin' Rewards for an order or party $400 or more until the end of June!

Have you received your catalogue yet? If you are on of my active customers, then you should be receiving a complimentary catalogue in the mail.  If you haven't received it by May 31st, please email me and I'll make sure you get one. If haven't purchased from me in the past 12 months you can email me and I'll get one to you ($15 by mail).  I'll give you a credit on your first order of $50 for the value.

Are you getting excited? Do you want to see some sneak peeks?

The new Stampin' Up! Annual catalogue goes live on June 1st and you can start ordering from it as of 12 noon Pacific on that day.  Do you have your wish list all ready?

Have you received your catalogue yet? If you are on of my active customers, then you should be receiving a complimentary catalogue in the mail.  If you haven't received it by May 31st, please email me and I'll make sure you get one. If haven't purchased from me in the past 12 months you can email me and I'll get one to you ($15 by mail).  I'll give you a credit on your first order of $50 for the value.  You can also check out the catalogue online as of June 1st - I'll post the link on June 1st.

As I mentioned in my last post, I haven't been able to do much stamping lately as we're moving on June 11th to our new home.  Yes, I'm very excited.  We took possession last week and it's sitting waiting for us to arrive!  My upline is hosting a new catalogue swap - where you sign up to design and make cards using a new stamp set from the catalogue.  Because my craft room was all packed up I had to sadly say no, but she invited me over to make cards in her studio.  It was so much fun - stamping is good for the soul!  I needed to get away from the packing for a bit and just be creative.

Here are the cards that I made for the swap.  Both use new stamp sets and embellishments and one uses one of the new In Colours.

The first card use the Crafting Forever stamp set, 2 new In Colours - Powder Pink and Fresh Fig, a new embossing folder and new ribbon.  This has to be one of my favourites!  I love how simple this card was to make.  I'll post the recipe next week including a trick with the new ribbon to make the ruffle like the picture.

Crafting Forever
This card uses the Color Theory Suite including the Designer Series Paper stack, stamp set, coordinating framelits and new glitter dot embellishments.  This one took a little longer - lots of stamping and cutting out using the Big Shot and thank goodness for the Magnetic Platform!

Color Theory
Interested in ordering, email me or go to my Online store and place your order (after 12 noon Pacific) on June 1st.  Don't forget to include NVTRW6J3 as the host code. When you use this host code for your Online order, I'll send you a set of 4 cards from the new catalogue as a thank gift.

Happy Stamping!

Where does the time go?

It's been crazy around my house for the past month or so.  My husband and I are building a new house on Vancouver Island which we're very excited about.  Our final inspection and possession date is next week.  It feels like it has been a very long time in coming - we started the process last November, but in actual fact, once they were able to start building, it has only taken 3 months.  We had such a snowy winter that they were delayed in getting started.

I'm really excited to have a new craft room that is bigger than I've ever had before and that I'll be able to have room to hold classes.  If you're reading this, you live close to Ladysmith, BC and are interested in classes and other events, please comment or send me an email.  I hope to be set up again by mid July!

On top of all of that, I just returned home from a 2 week trip to Madrid, Spain.  What a lovely place to visit.  It was partly vacation where I visited with my family from the UK for 5 days and then partly work.

So, where does that leave me?  Well, mostly in a mad scramble to get packed up for the move in early June!  My craft room is packed away so I won't get much stamping done until I get settled.  I will be able to share some sneak peeks of cards made using new products from the upcoming Stampin' Up! catalogue thanks to the lovely ladies in my monthly swap!

Do you want to receive a new catalogue?  If you are an active customer and have order from me either in person or on line in the past 12 months, you will be receiving a complimentary catalogue in the mail before the end of May.  If haven't purchased from me in the past 12 months you can email me and I'll get one to you ($15 by mail).  I'll give you a credit on your first order of $50 for the value.  You can also check out the catalogue online as of June 1st.

Here are a few amazing cards made by my swapping friends.
Made by Elaine Paget - using Eastern Palace which is available as  a Sneak Peek through my online store

This card uses the Delightful Daisy Suite and was made by my friend Alison Solven

I love this card made by Jenn Tinline.  She used the Crafting Forever set which I think is one of my favourite from the new catalogue.  Her card also shows off all of the new In Colours for 2017-2018 - Powder Pink, Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist and Fresh Fig.  Aren't they amazing!
That's it for now!  Stay tuned for more updates on my move and more sneak peeks!  Email me to get your new catalogue or to let me know if you might be interested in my events once I move.

Honour House Stamp-a-Stack

Last Saturday I had the honour of participating in the 1st Annual Stamp-a-Stack in support of Honour House.

Honour House provides a home away from home and a place for recovery for members of the Canadian Forces, Emergency Services Personnel, Veterans and their families completely free of charge while they are receiving medical care and treatment in the Lower Mainland/Vancouver area.

We had a great team of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators (left to right):  Alison Solven (our fearless leader for the event), Ginny Duncan, Angela McKay, myself and Liane Binder.

The ladies who participated made 6 great cards designed by the Team and went home with some great prizes!  We raised over $3600 that will go to Honour House.

Everyone is hard at work!
Check out the prize table!

It's always such a great feeling when you support such a good cause.  If you're interested in learning more about Honour House, check out their website https://honourhouse.ca/# .

These were my sample cards for the event.

Do you have some favourites that are retiring?

I sure do.  I'm always sad to see the products that are retiring from the Stampin' Up! Catalogue, but that means they are making room for even more wonderful products.  This year is no exception!  I've seen the new catalogue and actually have some new products to start playing with.  That's one of the perks of being a SU! Demonstrator (interested in learning more, just ask!).

I wanted to share some of my favourites with you.

Getting ready for Stampin' Up! OnStage

I'm off to Calgary to attend the OnStage event on Saturday.  I love attending the Stampin' Up! events!  I get to catch up with friends that I don't see very often, meet new demonstrators and mostly get inspired by the amazing creations and projects that I see.

With the event being in Calgary, it provides a perfect opportunity to visit with my family that lives in Alberta. My sister will pick me up at the airport on Thursday and we'll go to Red Deer, AB to visit my other sister. Then both are coming back to Calgary with me and well stay at the conference hotel on Friday night.  While I'm attending OnStage on Saturday, they'll go shopping - something we all do pretty well (must be in the genes).

I'm participating in 2 organized swaps at OnStage and I wanted to share my cards.

This is a 3x3 gift card made using In This World.  I seem to be in a water colouring mood these days and this was so easy.  I used water colour paper and wetted it down with my aqua painter and then used Flirty Flamingo ink (picked up from the lid of my ink pad) and applied to the paper. Once it was dry I applied Gold Wink of Stella using the brush to the small splotch stamp from Gorgeous Grunge and stamped over the pink.  I stamped directly on top with the Archival Black Ink using the butterfly stamp and stamped a second image on water colour paper.  For the second image, I coloured it using my aqua painter and Peekaboo Peach ink.  You can go over it a few times to get a deeper colour.  I applied Clear Wink of Stella over top of the ink once it was dry (it's hard to see the shimmer in the picture) I added a little bit of Metallic Gold Thread under the popped up image.

Supply List:

Stamps:
142652 In This World (Clear)
130514 Gorgeous Grunge (Wood)
 Paper:
121045 Basic Black 8 ½” x 11” Card stock (6”x3” scored at 3”)

122959 Water Colour Paper (2 ¾” x 2 ¾”)
 Ink:
140931 Archival Stampin’ Pad, Basic Black
141397 Flirty Flamingo Classic Stampin’ Pad

Other:
104430 Stampin' Dimensionals
138401 Gold Metallic Thread
141897 Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush

103954 Aqua Painter

My second card uses the Moroccan Nights stamp set.  For this card I stamped the lanterns on Vellum Cardstock using Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy and then embossed them using Clear Embossing Powder.  The inside of the lantern is coloured using Gold Wink of Stella.  The banner has 3 layers - Vellum with images, Emerald Envy and Early Espresso.  A little bit of Dapper Denim ruched ribbon and Emerald Envy Taffeta ribbon finished it off. This is popped up on the Designer Series Paper from the Moroccan Nights suite and then adhered to a Dapper Denim Cardstock base.  The sentiment is stamped and punched out using the Duet Banner punch and then adhered to the other punched piece in Emerald Envy.

Stamps:
141718 Moroccan Nights (clear)
141543 Weather Together (Polymer)
