Are you getting exciting? The Holiday Catalogue is almost here

Tuesday 30 August 2016

Only 2 more sleeps until you will be able to order from the new Stampin' Up! Holiday catalogue!  The catalogue goes live on September 1st.  I know you are going to love the new products as much as I do.  As a demonstrator we get a chance to see the catalogue and to order from it early - that way we can have some samples made to show you.  There are so many amazing new products but I'm particularly in love with two (it was hard to narrow it to two) - The Candy Cane Christmas Suite and Christmas Pines stamp set and coordinating framelits.

Candy Candy Christmas

I just love Real Red, Crumb Cake and White together and this suite is all about that with some very cute stamps and sentiments.  The Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper is adorable with images that are large enough to cut out and use on cards or you can use the paper as a background.

Here's a card I shared before - CASE'd (copy and share everything) from the Holiday Catalogue on page 4.

This was so easy to make - just a little bit of fussy cutting to cut the houses out of the Designer Series Paper!

Christmas Pines

I love the detail of the pine cones in the stamp set and coordinating framelits.  Here's a square that I have used in the Collage I've made for an upcoming class.  It's hard to see, but I stamped the pine cones first and then cut them out using the framelits.  I also cut out some bows for greenery.  Add a bow and little pine cone embellishment (also available in the catalogue) and you're done!

Christmas Collage Class

I'll be holding a class where we'll make a collage that uses a bunch of products from the new catalogue - you can see some of those above - Cable Knit embossing folder, Cookie Cutter stamp set and punch, beautiful ribbon and twines.  The collage includes 9 3x3" squares on a 12x12" background perfect for framing or giving away.  The class will be held on Sunday, September 25th from 1-3pm. The cost is $25.  Email me if you are interested in signing up.

If you haven't received your catalogue yet, please email me. I'd be happy to get one to you if you.

Thoughtful Branches

If you have been meaning to order the Thoughtful Branches bundle, don't delay.  This is only available while supplies last - Stampin' Up! is not going to carry this set after that!  Don't miss out if you had your heart set on this set!

Happy Stamping!

Shares from Make and Take Tuesday

Wednesday 24 August 2016

Each month I host a Make and Take Tuesday event - typically happens on the third Tuesday of the month, but may shift due to availability.  This month, due to vacation, it was last night.  The ladies make 3 cards - cost is $15 which includes all of the supplies.

Here are last nights cards:

For the first card, I used the Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper (Item 141648) - I love the black and white with pops of Melon Mambo.  This card features the Birthday Blooms stamp set (Item 140658) and we used Stampin' Up! markers in Melon Mambo, Sweet Sugarplum and Old Olive to colour it.  Three pearls finished off the card!

The second card was CASE'd from a card I received from my friend Liane.  I switched it up a bit and used Sweet Sugarplum and Smoky Slate and used a sentiment stamped in Smoky Slate.  This was very quick and easy and I love the colours together.  The stamp set is Touches of Texture (Item 143251) and the sentiment is from Best Birds (Item 141525).  I used the Scalloped Tag Topper punch (Item 133324) to create the tag and the Project Life Corner Punch (Item 135346) to round the corners.

For the last card, we used the Weather Together stamp set with the coordinating framelits - available as a bundle (Item 142319).
This card takes a little longer with the water colouring in Sweet Sugarplum, Peekaboo Peach and Emerald Envy, but is definitely worth it!  The sentiment is stamped and then cut out using a framelit from the Bunch of Banners Framelits (Item 141488) - when you cut this out, it cuts out two pieces so I adhered the outside to the card and then popped up the centre with the sentiment using Stampin' Up! Dimensionals.  It's a bit hard to see from the picture.

Here are the PDF Instructions for you if you want re-created this card.

A little off topic

Tuesday 9 August 2016

Hi everyone,
I'm going to hi jack my blog post today and talk about a very important topic that became critically important to me and my husband in the past week.

We headed out on our sail boat for a 3 week vacation - we were both looking forward to getting away for such a long time on the boat.  It was day 3 and we had crossed over Georgia Strait the day before. My husband woke up and when he looked at me he had clear signs of having had a stroke.  I immediately remembered a commercial on TV that says "Honey, you're having a stroke.  Raise your arms, talk to me, I'm calling 9-1-1" and that's what I did.

Thank goodness for that commercial and thank goodness that the small island that we were on had a Fire and Rescue team and also an ambulance!  My husband was taken by ambulance to Nanaimo Hospital - a 20 minute drive across the island and then a 20 minute ferry crossing.

I'm happy to report that my husband is fine - he had a couple of Transient Ischemic Attacks or mini strokes.  He was in Nanaimo Hospital for 48 hours as they tried to find the source of the clots.  He's fully recovered.  We're now home and our boat is coming home today!  He still has lots of tests to go through, but it sure feels good to be home.

If I can leave you with one message, it's this.

Thanks for listening!
Happy stamping!
